Realtors® Donate $18,000 to Local Non-Profit

Last week, members of the Young Professionals Network (YPN) of Realtors® Association of the Palm Beaches and Greater Fort Lauderdale gathered in an empty warehouse behind the Solid Waste Authority’s Recovered Materials in Processing Facility in West Palm Beach. Their intention was to meet with Paint Your Heart Out (PYHO) President Joanna Aiken and Board Member Robert Waples to present a check for $18,300 to the non-profit, which assists homeowners in financial need with exterior home repairs.

When asked about the impact the funds will have, Aiken said, “The donation from this amazing group will help paint 240 homes. It will also help purchase 3,600 gallons of recycled paint and the supplies needed to paint the homes. Paint Your Heart Out will be able to help so many more elderly, disabled, veteran and limited income families because of the donation.”

The funds were raised during the Realtors® association’s 6th Annual White Attire Fundraiser at a private estate this past June in Delray Beach. YPN Committee Member and PYHO Board Member Jack Porrata was the driving force behind selecting Paint Your Heart Out as the benefiting charity. “As a Realtor®, I understand the financial responsibility that comes with being a homeowner. As a Board Member of Paint Your Heart Out, I see the impact a fresh coat of paint can have on a homeowner in need. I’m proud to be a part of the community initiatives the Young Professionals Network has conducted this year.”

The mission of the Young Professionals Network is to provide educational, networking and community service opportunities to its members. To learn more about Paint Your Heart Out, visit www.paintyourheartoutpbc.com.
