Closed Sales Decrease in Martin County

Just in! Newly released market reports from Florida Realtors® detailing recent real estate activity in Martin County. The reports compare year-over-year data for March. Here are statistics on single family homes.

“In March, closed sales decreased 13.4 percent in Martin County. This should not come across as alarming since our market is rebalancing between buyers and sellers,” said Jarrod Lowe, President Elect of the Realtors® of the Palm Beaches and Greater Fort Lauderdale.

There were 206 closed sales in Martin County, a 13.4 percent decline compared to March 2018’s 238 closed sales. Along with the decline in closed sales, cash sales also decreased 19.4 percent year-over-year to 83.

“We saw increases in months’ supply of inventory and active inventory for single family homes. Active listings increased by 6.1 percent and months’ supply of inventory increased by 11.8 percent year-over-year. Now would be a good time to contact a local Realtor® for advice on buying and selling in the current market conditions,” continues Lowe.

The months’ supply of inventory for March 2019 was 5.7 months, which is a 11.8 percent increase year-over-year from the 5.1 months in March 2018. In active listings, we saw a 6.1% increase year-over-year to 1,106.
